Profile of the Journal
The Geographical Perspective is a journal of the Association of Geographers, Bihar and Jharkhand (AGBJ). It is a bilingual annual peer reviewed journal. It has been published since 2000AD without any break. Anyone having interest in geography and its allied discipline is eligible to send his/her research paper for publication in this journal. The author(s) must have to keep in mind that the journal publishes only that research paper which carries original work of the author(s). The research paper having applied dimension, scientific methodology and approach get priority in the publication, as the very purpose of this journal has been to enrich the discipline and to establish the importance of geography and allied disciplines in the domain of regional planning, space analysis, development parameters and the policy making. We have been promoting research activities in both English and Hindi mediums. In fact, the National Education Policy, 2020 also approves our vision and work style to promote learning and writing in national languages. The journal is divided into two sections. The section ‘A’ is given to such research papers which are written in English while section ‘B’ is devoted to Hindi medium research papers. Besides original research papers, we also publish presidential address delivered in the annual meeting of the Association of Geographers, Bihar and Jharkhand. The best research paper of Prof. R. Gauntia Young Geographer Award; the best geographical essay submitted in Dr. Vidya Sagar Yadav Emerging Geographers Award and the Foundation day lecture (based on the research work of the speaker) are also published in this journal. The journal also gives space for the publication of book reviews, obituary and important geographical news of the year in the end pages of the journal.
The journal is the pride of the geographers of Bihar and Jharkhand. The Association of Geographers, Bihar and Jharkhand is the publisher of the journal. The Association has also started to upload the entire copy of the journal on our website as soft copy of the journal. The journal is committed to furtherance the knowledge of geography and to establish geography as an indispensible subject, so far as the planning of development / sustainable development in the spatial context is concerned.
