Profile of the Journal




Geographical Perspective (ISSN 0970-890X) is an Annual and Double-Blind Peer Reviewed Research Journal of The Association of Geographers, Bihar and Jharkhand (AGBJ). The journal is indexed in global journal databases like J- Gate. The Journal is intended to serve as a forum for publishing original and innovative papers that will significantly improve the quality of research, learning, teaching, and applying geography and related spatial sciences in a theoretical, conceptual, or empirical way, as well as to promote the importance of geography as a discipline.

The journal has been published since 2000 A.D. with the basic aim to promote the objectives of The Association of Geographers, Bihar and Jharkhand, which is headquartered at the Department of Geography, Patna University, Patna, Bihar. The journal publishes papers through an open call for papers, those presented at the annual conference of AGBJ, Presidential Address, Foundation Day Lecture, memorial lectures, book reviews and invited papers. The best research paper of Prof. R. Gauntia Young Geographer Award and the best geographical essay submitted in Dr. Vidya Sagar Yadav Emerging Geographers Award (based on the research work of the speaker) are also published in this journal.

Since 2000, the journal has been improving in terms of academic quality and standards. It will not be out of place to mention that many of the reputed geographers and social scientists of India have published in the journal. The journal is the pride of the geographers of Bihar and Jharkhand. The Association of Geographers, Bihar and Jharkhand is the publisher of the journal. The Association has also started to upload the entire copy of the journal on its website as a soft copy of the journal. The journal is committed to furtherance the knowledge of geography and to establishing geography as an indispensable subject, so far as the planning of development / sustainable development in the spatial context is concerned.
